The European Commission has reserved two new '116' telephone numbers. 116 006 will be reserved for victims of crime, while 116 117 will be for non-emergency medical services across the EU. These two new numbers will be available for allocation from April 2010.

This follows the recent allocation of 116 000 for missing children helplines, 116 111 for child helplines and 116 123 for emotional support. [Press release]
